A crown that falls off an implant is not necessarily a failure of the implant itself; usually, it is the detachment of the crown from the abutment. It is important not to re-cement it yourself with household glue.
What to do immediately?
Keep the crown in a small box, avoid chewing in that area, and contact the clinic promptly. If there is pain or damage to the abutment, a quick description is even more important.
What could be the causes?
Weakened cement, abnormal chewing load, or wear of the abutment. During the examination, we will determine if the same crown can be reused or if a new one is needed.
How to prevent recurrence?
Periodic maintenance visits, a night guard in case of teeth grinding, and early treatment for any feeling of movement or instability in the crown.
