Bone grafting is a relatively small procedure, but healing varies between patients. Sensitivity and mild swelling usually peak in the first 48 hours and improve significantly within a week.
How long should pain last?
Most patients report only discomfort on the first day, well controlled with regular pain relief. Pain that worsens after 3–4 days is not the usual course.
What shortens recovery?
Rest for the first two days, cold compresses, no smoking, and following the doctor’s instructions. Soft food in the first week helps a lot.
When should you contact the doctor?
If pain increases, a bad taste appears, fever develops, or swelling keeps growing — contact us promptly for a check. At our clinic we remain available after treatment as well.
